Rutgers School of Public Health Faculty Receive Rutgers Chancellor Awards

Four Rutgers School of Public Health faculty members have received 2023 Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences Chancellor Awards.

Introduced in 2020, the Chancellor Awards were established to recognize and highlight the extraordinary work of faculty and staff. The awards, which include 10 faculty and eight staff categories, collectively celebrate institutional excellence in various domains, including biomedical and health sciences research, clinical care, community service, mentorship, education, leadership, diversity, equity, inclusion, and staff service and support.

Nominated by their peers, recipients of the awards are selected by the Chancellor Awards Committee, which reviews the contributions of the nominees.

Anita Kinney, a professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology and director of the Center of Cancer Health Equity, received the Excellence in Community Service Award for her significant contributions in the service of external communities.

Teri E. Lassiter, the assistant dean for diversity, equity, and inclusion and an assistant professor in the Department of Urban-Global Public Health, received the Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award for her significant contributions to the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, scholarship, or service at Rutgers Health.

Stephanie Shiau, an assistant professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, and Olivia A. Wackowski, an associate professor in the Department of Health Behavior, Society and Policy, both received the Excellence in Clinical or Health Sciences Research Award for their significant contributions to impactful clinical and health sciences research.
