CEPH Accreditation

The Rutgers School of Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), an independent agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit schools of public health. All accredited schools undergo a periodic full evaluation every five to seven years.

Self-Study

As part of this evaluation, the school constructs a self-study report which comprehensively describes our instructional, research, and service efforts, as well as the resources, faculty, staff, and students. A team of qualified peer reviewers assess the validity of the self-study report during an on-site visit.

The Rutgers School of Public Health last completed a major self-study in November 2023 and was then reviewed by an external committee who conducted a site visit for CEPH to meet with a variety of stakeholders including faculty, students, staff, alumni, and external community representatives in December 2023.

In 2024, the CEPH Board of Councilors voted to renew the accreditation of the school for a seven-year term, through July 1, 2031.
