About the Doctor of Medicine/Master of Public Health (MD/MPH)
In partnership with Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, the Rutgers School of Public Health offers medical students the opportunity to earn a MD alongside a MPH – providing strong interdisciplinary training in medicine and public health. The MD/MPH dual-degree program allows medical students to complete both their doctoral degree and the MPH degree in four or five years depending on which various alternative schedule is chosen.

Admissions
Application to the MD/MPH dual-degree program is limited to students who have already been accepted at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School or New Jersey Medical School. However, a student already enrolled in the MPH may join the MD/MPH program if subsequently admitted to RWJMS or NJMS medical school.

About the Master of Social Work / Master of Public Health (MSW/MPH)
In partnership with the Rutgers School of Social Work, the Rutgers School of Public Health offers students the opportunity to earn a MSW alongside a MPH. MSW/MPH students will develop advanced knowledge and skills in the interrelated areas of public health and social welfare, using an interdisciplinary approach to preventing, addressing, and solving health problems at the micro (individual/clinical), mezzo (family, organizations or communities) or macro (society or population) levels. Upon graduation, students can apply for licensing in social work and/or take the Certified in Public Health exam.

MSW/MPH students participate in the MPH in Social Work and Public Health concentration to take full advantage of the dual-degree program. Other MPH concentrations would require additional coursework as less credits would be shared among the two degree programs.
Admissions
Interested applicants in the MSW/MPH dual-degree program must apply separately to each school. Once a student has been admitted to both programs, they are then identified as an MSW/MPH dual-degree student.

About the Master of Science-Clinical Nutrition/Master of Public Health (MS/MPH)
The Rutgers School of Public Health and the Rutgers School of Health Professions are offering students the opportunity to earn a MPH and MS-Clinical Nutrition dual-degree. MPH/MS-Clinical Nutrition dual-degree students gain a strong knowledge of public health nutrition and clinical nutrition. Students who complete the dual-degree program are eligible to sit for the Registered Dietitian certification/exam.

Admissions
Interested applicants in the MPH/MS-Clinical Nutrition dual-degree program must apply separately to each school.
Students may apply to each school simultaneously. Alternatively, some students will already be matriculated at one of the schools and then decide to pursue the dual-degree. Students in either school may apply to the other school for the dual-degree at any time prior to the completion of their penultimate semester in the degree program for which they were originally admitted. However, the later in their graduate studies a student applies to the dual-degree will limit how many courses are possibly shared between the two degree programs. Students must be accepted into both degree programs in order to pursue the dual-degree.

About the Doctor of Pharmacy/Master of Public Health (PharmD/MPH)
In partnership with Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, the Rutgers School of Public Health offers pharmacy students the opportunity to earn a PharmD alongside a MPH. PharmD/MPH students will build on their pharmacy training with a sound understanding of public health fields, such as organization of health services, pharmacoepidemiology, healthcare policy, biostatistics and health education.
The PharmD/MPH is available only for select, highly-qualified PharmD candidates at the Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy The program provides pharmacy students with a pathway to complete both the PharmD and the MPH in less time than it would take to complete both degrees sequentially. Students will continue full-time study in the PharmD program and graduate on time with their classmates. However, by taking select MPH core courses while in the PharmD program, these students will be able to complete the MPH with approximately one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study, immediately following the completion of the PharmD degree.

Admissions
Application to the PharmD/MPH dual-degree program is limited to students who have already been accepted and are enrolled at Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy.
Students interested in the dual PharmD/MPH degree program should first contact the Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, to discuss their qualifications and certify their eligibility.
Interested PharmD students may apply directly to the Rutgers School of Public Health beginning in the spring semester of the first year (P1) of the PharmD professional program. The GRE requirement is waived. Students who want to take MPH courses prior to acceptance into the PharmD/MPH dual-degree program may register for up to two MPH courses, or six credits, as a visiting student.

Admissions
Interested applicants in the MBA/MPH dual-degree program must apply separately to each school. Once a student has been admitted to both programs, they are then identified as an MBA/MPH dual-degree student.
MPH Admission Requirements: For the MPH, interested applicants must submit a paper (hard-copy) application; applicants should not apply through SOPHAS. Students must complete the application form, personal essay, and provide two letters of recommendation, submit test scores (GREs or GMA T are accepted), formal transcripts, and the application fee to the Rutgers School of Public Health.
MBA Admission Requirements: For the MBA, applicants are required to submit an online application and select the MBA/MPH dual-degree option. Students must then pay the application fee, submit a copy of their resume, official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, a two page essay, two letters of recommendation, and test scores (the MBA accepts both the GRE and the GMAT) to the Rutgers School of Business.

About the Master of Biomedical Science/Master of Public Health (MBS/MPH)
In partnership with Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (Newark) and the Rowan Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Rutgers School of Public Health offers biomedical science students the opportunity to earn a MBS, non-thesis based, alongside a MPH. MBS/MPH students will provide students with a strong knowledge of contemporary research methods and scientific foundations in both the biomedical sciences and public health. Individually, the MPH degree program requires 45 credits and the MBS degree program requires 30 credits.

MPP/MPH students will have in-depth complementary training as public policymakers and public health experts. Graduates will build on their policy training with a sound understanding of public health fields, such as organization of health services, epidemiology, healthcare policy, and biostatistics.

About the Dietetic Internship Graduate Certificate/ Master of Public Health (DI Graduate Certificate/MPH)
The Rutgers School of Public Health’s MPH in Public Health Nutrition degree and the Rutgers School of Health Profession’s DI graduate certificate, prepares students to become registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) providing population, community, and client- centered care through interprofessional work and evidence-based nutrition care.
Dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in nutrition and dietetics education, client and population practice, research, and service, the dual program expands the complex factors that affect public health and impact health equity and disease prevention.
This dual program allows students to take the RDN credentialing exam after completing or receiving the MPH in Public Health Nutrition degree and DI graduate certificate. This is New Jersey’s first and only MPH/DI dual program.
Applicants must have completed an accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics prior to enrolling.

Program Format and Length
This five-semester, full-time, DI/MPH dual program has courses from the Rutgers School of Public Health and Rutgers School of Health Professions. Students will participate in experiential learning in the last two semesters of the program to promote an exceptional didactic education and application to practice.
Completion of the dual program requires a minimum of 55- credits. The first 12 months are focused on the MPH curriculum and the final eight months are focused on the DI graduate certificate.
DI/MPH students will take courses remotely, online, and in-person at Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences campuses in Newark and/or New Brunswick (Piscataway), depending on course and year. MPH in Public Health Nutrition degree program courses are offered in-person, remotely, and/or online. DI graduate certificate courses are taught using both Canvas and Zoom.
Experiential learning will occur in public health and community settings, such as federally qualified health centers and clinics, community food banks, food service, subacute and long-term care settings, state departments on aging and health care, as well as in professional advocacy groups.

Application Deadline and Requirements
Students interested in the MPH/DI program will be required to apply through the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application System.
A complete application includes:
- Application via the Centralized Application System
- Resume or CV
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 from an accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
- Two letters of recommendation from a professor or academic advisor
- Personal statement (up to 750 words) with short and long-term goals and why they are interested in the program
- Virtual face-to-face interview with candidates for admission (to be scheduled following review of complete application)
- Verification Statement of Didactic Program in Dietetics coursework or Declaration of Intent to before entering the program
- D&D digital registration between December 1, 2022, and February 15, 2023, by 11:59 pm central time.
- GRE General Exam (optional)
- TOEFL or IELTS score for applicants educated in a non-native English-speaking country
Applicants will use Dietetic Internship Centralized Application System to apply to the MPH/DI program. Match Day for the Dietetic Internship is April 3, 2023.
