The Rutgers School of Public Health is proud to announce that Vin Gupta, M.D., M.P.A., has been named the 2026 recipient of the Senator Frank R. Lautenberg Award in Public Health, the school’s highest honor. Gupta will also serve as the school’s 40th graduation speaker, addressing graduates, faculty, staff, and guests at the May 2026 ceremony.
Rutgers School of Public Health Dean’s Leadership Council members, Gloria A. Bachmann NCAS’70, RWJMS’72 and James F. Dougherty RC’74, GSNB’75, are part of the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni Class of 2026. The incoming class was selected by the Rutgers University Alumni Association (RUAA) Board of Directors.
Katie Zapert, assistant dean for research at the Rutgers School of Public Health, has received the 2025 Rutgers Gateway Award (Service to Employees).
Maryanne Campbell, assistant director of the New Jersey Safe Schools Program at the Rutgers School of Public Health, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Dr. Robert Synovitz Emerging Professional Award by the American School Health Association.
Laura Lindberg, a professor in the Department of Urban-Global Public Health at the Rutgers School of Public Health, has received the 2025 Mentor Award from the Society of Family Planning.
