Anita Y. Kinney, Ph.D., distinguished professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Rutgers School of Public Health and director of the Cancer Health Equity Center of Excellence, received the inaugural Community Wellness Crescendo Award from Jazz4PCA® (Jazz 4 Prostate Cancer Awareness). The award was presented during the organization's 15th-anniversary celebration on September 19, 2026, in Edison, New Jersey.

Elizabeth Suarez, PhD, MPH, an assistant professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Rutgers School of Public Health and a core member of the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science at the Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research, has received a 2026 Rutgers Health Chancellor Award for Excellence in Clinical or Health Sciences Research as an early-career investigator.

Mitchel A. Rosen, professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and Justice and director of the Center for Public Health Workforce Development at the Rutgers School of Public Health, has been named a recipient of the Alice Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement from the American Public Health Association’s Occupational Health and Safety Section.

Perry N. Halkitis, dean of the Rutgers School of Public Health, will receive an honorary doctorate from the Department of Public Health Policy at the School of Public Health at the University of West Attica in Athens, Greece.

Philip Demokritou, PhD, Henry Rutgers Chair and professor of nanoscience and environmental bioengineering at the Rutgers School of Public Health, has been named a 2026–2027 Fellow of the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) at the University of Surrey. 

Two Rutgers School of Public Health faculty members have been recognized among the university’s most distinguished scholars, earning 2025–2026 Faculty Year-End Excellence Awards from Rutgers University.
