Koshy Koshy, associate professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and Justice at the Rutgers School of Public Health, has received the 2024 Leadership in Training Award from the NYC Building & Construction Industry Safety Fund.

“It’s indeed an honor to be recognized by the prestigious NYC Building & Construction Industry Safety Fund for training excellence,” says Koshy, who is also the Manager for the Center for Public Health Workforce Development.

The award is given annually by the NYC Building & Construction Industry Safety Fund, which raises money for families of fallen construction workers, at its annual event. The event was attended by over 400 city, state, federal officials, and major construction companies.

“This award is absolutely a testament to the amazing work by our Center for Public Health Workforce Development administrative and instructional staff in delivering 1000’s of OSHA courses and administering the OSHA Outreach Program,” adds Koshy.

In addition to receiving the award, Koshy led a panel discussion on training, worker safety, and what needs to be done to improve worker safety.
