Research & Service

The Department of Environmental & Occupational Health is located within the Rutgers School of Public Health on the New Brunswick Campus. The faculty's research interests include:

  • Environmental effects on human health and human immunity
  • Short-term and long-term exposure to ambient and indoor air pollution and fuel additives on human immunity
  • Impact of genetic factors on an individual's susceptibility to environmental diseases
  • Exposure and risk assessment on chemical and non-chemical stressors
  • Climate change related exposure and health effects
  • Personal exposure to ambient and indoor air pollutants
  • Environmental epidemiology and human exposure assessment field studies
  • Indoor air and environmental quality in schools, homes and day care
