Our Mission

In service to the mission of the Rutgers School of Public Health, the Office of Community Engagement, Population Health, and Global Public Health seeks to build capacity and engage in meaningful work where community partners, students, and faculty work collaboratively to solve and reflect on public health challenges that affect communities throughout New Jersey, the United States, and the world.

Our Vision

Public health practitioners who improve the health and wellbeing of all people, with an emphasis on under-served communities, through collaboration with community partners and a commitment to eliminating health inequities and social injustices.

Our Commitment

To our community partners, students, and faculty, we pledge to uphold our values by fostering a welcoming and supportive campus community, cultivating meaningful collaboration across Rutgers, and creating opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to advance health equity and social justice through community engagement, learning, and public health practice. We will continue to actively promote appropriate and fair use of public health evidence, reasoned thought, sustained discussion, and constructive community engagement without degrading, abusing, harassing, or silencing others. We are committed to maintaining an academic environment where all our community members can learn, contribute, and thrive.
