Accepted Student Next Steps
Check out the following 6 things accepted students can do while they wait for more information about online orientation and onboarding.
1. Activate Rutgers NetID & Rutgers School of Public Health Email Address
NetID: Visit netid.rutgers.edu to set up your login information to gain access to all your Rutgers platforms. Once activated, wait 24 hours before attempting to access your MyRutgersdashboard.
Email: Next, activate your Rutgers School of Public Health email and make sure to generate an sph.rutgers.edu email address. Then, under “Service Activation”, ensure that “Rutgers Connect Office 365” account is active. You can access your Rutgers School of Public Health email account at connect.rutgers.edu.

2. Await Onboarding Letter
Onboarding letters will be sent via email from our Rutgers School of Public Health Office for Student Experiences & Alumni Affairs.
Letters will include advisor assignment, required online orientation details (if applicable), and registration procedures.
All new students will be added to a New Student Orientation Course (NSO) on Canvas. Please be sure to monitor your Canvas Dashboard and SPH email address for course invites. The NSO Modules are due prior to the start of the semester you are planning to begin your degree.

3. Register for Courses
New students can reach out for registration advisement after they receive their onboarding letter and are assigned an academic advisor. Visit the Academic & Registration Calendars webpage for key dates pertaining to registration, add/drop deadlines, and refund calculations.
What do you need to register?
- Active NetID
- Registration PIN
- Course Advisement
Who provides advisement?
A student's academic advisor. The Office of the Registrar does not provide PINs or advisement.

4. Check Financial Aid Eligibility
The Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences (RBHS) Office of Financial Aid provides counseling and financial aid funding for students enrolled in Rutgers School of Public Health. They are responsible for processing all loans, scholarships, and financial aid options at the school.
Important things to note about RBHS Financial Aid:
- To apply, you must complete both the FAFSA AND the RBHS Financial Aid Application.
- You must be registered for at least 4.5 credits for fall and spring, and at least 3.0 credits for summer, to receive federal financial aid from the school.
- Before a federal loan can be applied to your account, you must complete both a master promissory note AND entrance counseling.
- Rutgers University School Code for Financial Aid is 002629
Learn more about the RBHS Office of Financial Aid by visiting their website here.

5. Pay Student Bill on Time
Tuition and fee rates are available on our website
Your MyRutgers dashboard (accessed via: my.rutgers.edu) will display your student bill.
For assistance with setting up payment plan options, please contact the Rutgers Health Student Accounting office through their email here: rutgershealthstudentaccounts@rutgers.edu.

6. Complete Visa Requirements
International students should email Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences Rutgers Global for questions about their visa status, I-20 forms, and options for courses.

7. Next Steps
To start courses, you need to electronically submit your health immunization paperwork to Rutgers Health Services, including proof of your vaccination status if you are registering for in-person courses. These documents are not managed by the school internally, so any questions will need to be directed to Rutgers Health Services by sending a secure message via the Patient Portal. If you are also a student dually enrolled in another program at Rutgers, you will not need to send these documents twice.
It is your responsibility to monitor your SPH email address for important updates. Please review our Student Responsibility to Keep Informed policy.
Review the Academic Calendar for important semester dates and deadlines.
