Mission and Objectives

Within New Jersey, across the United States, and around the globe, opportunities for meaningful and innovative public health leadership, scholarship, and practice are endless. The Rutgers School of Public Health's Office of Career Services seeks to prepare a diverse student community to pursue these pathways with the skills, creativity, professionalism, and vision needed to advance public health's goals of health promotion, protection, and progress. Career Services meets this vision through the following objectives:

  • Helping students find and develop their professional identities, strengths, and passions within public health
  • Providing skills-based training and professional development resources to assist students in applying for jobs, research opportunities, and further education
  • Engaging with community partners to promote employment opportunities for students and to remain at the forefront of building a strong public health workforce

Services Provided

The School of Public Health’s Career Services office offers the following scope of services to students and alumni: electronic resume/CV/cover letter submission and review, one-on-one career and professional development advising appointments, drop-in career advising hours, resources for finding your path and passion in public health, campus- and community-based career and professional development events for public health, a job/internship/volunteer position database, fellowship and scholarship listings, and a variety of online resources, tools, and guides.

The Career Services Connect page in Canvas is the primary hub for getting involved with Career Services at the Rutgers School of Public Health and for accessing all of the provided services. Currently enrolled students are automatically added to this Canvas page and do not need to request access.
