Information Session: Global Course -Addressing Health Inequities in Latin American Communities
This course examines health inequities in Latin American communities, with a focus on Colombia and Latino populations in the U.S. Using an interdisciplinary approach that draws from public health, medicine, dentistry, and other health fields, students analyze and apply frameworks and research to address these disparities. Through experiential learning, students explore the sociocultural, economic, environmental, and political factors contributing to health inequities while engaging with community organizations, healthcare providers, and community members to develop practical solutions.
