Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and Justice graduates who already have experience in public health use their training to extend into new areas or attain supervisory or managerial positions in environmental/occupational health. Environmental health students are likely to qualify as public health officers at the state or local level. Occupational health students are likely to become health and safety officers in the private sector or health specialists in the public sector.
They may find positions in a wide variety of organizations in the state/federal agencies, health care sector including pharmaceutical firms, voluntary health agencies, health departments, consulting firms, hospitals and others. Some go on to more advanced technical degree,s such as an MS in Industrial Hygiene or doctoral studies.
