Our Mission

In service to the mission of the Rutgers School of Public Health, the Office of Community Engagement and Public Health Practice seeks to build capacity and engage in meaningful work where community partners, students, and faculty work collaboratively to solve and reflect on public health challenges that affect communities throughout New Jersey, the United States, and the world.

Our Vision

Public health practitioners who improve the health and wellbeing of all people, with an emphasis on under-served communities, through collaboration with community partners and a commitment to eliminating health inequities and social injustices.

Our Commitment

To our community partners, students, and faculty, we promise to act according to our values, in the pursuit of health equity and social justice through community engagement and public health practice. We actively encourage appropriate and fair use of public health evidence, reasoned thought, sustained discussion, and constructive community engagement without degrading, abusing, harassing, or silencing others. We are committed to maintaining an academic environment that opens doors, hearts, and minds.
