NJSS

This online course meets part of the New Jersey Department of Education requirements for structured learning experience (SLE) supervision. The content of this course covers various topics including fire safety and emergency exit and action plans, personal protective equipment (PPE), workplace violence, ergonomics, hazard communications, and other federal requirements.

This course has three parts. First, the “OSHA 10 General Industry” online course on CareerSafe, then the NJDOE 2-hour Safety and Health overview on the Rutgers Canvas learning management system (LMS), and lastly the virtual live session hosted on Rutgers WebEx. A memo with additional details will be emailed to participants upon registration.

Participants will receive three certificates of completion, for 10.0 PDUs for the CareerSafe portion, for 2.0 PDUs the Canvas portion, and for 2.0 PDUs for the live session via email once payment is received for the course.

You must complete the four required work-based learning online courses during the same cohort. For the live sessions, please select the same virtual live session date to complete the three live sessions for the NJ Wage and Hour, Designing and Implementing Student Training Plans, and OSHA 10+ General Industry courses on the same day. The Federal Wage and Hour course does not include a virtual live session. You must be available between 11 AM and 3 PM on the live session date you choose.
