Substance use; adolescent and emerging adult health; college student drinking; intervention design and evaluation; e-health; dissemination and implementation science

Dr. Ray received her Ph.D. in Biobehavioral Health, M.Ed. in Counselor Education, and B.S. in Psychology, all from Penn State University. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Rutgers Center of Alcohol Studies under the mentorship of Drs. Eun-Young Mun and Helene White. Prior to joining the Rutgers School of Public Health, she worked for REAL Prevention, LLC, a company focused on developing and disseminating evidence-based health prevention programming.

Research Interests
Broadly, Dr. Ray’s research interests lie in the etiology and prevention of high-risk substance use among adolescent and emerging adult populations. Her most recent work has focused on leveraging technology and organizational partnerships to scale up evidence-based programming and improve program dissemination for maximum impact.

Junior Investigator Travel Award - Research Society on Alcoholism and NIAAA (2012) - Junior Investigator Meeting Awards are provided each year to individuals who are the presenting author of a poster or giving an oral presentation at the Annual Scientific Meeting.

Special Events Travel Award - American Psychological Association (2011) - The purpose of this award program is to help psychology graduate students travel to the annual APA convention to present their research.
