Biography
BS, Chemistry, State University of New York at Stony Brook, 1974.

MS, Analytical Chemistry, University of Rhode Island, 1978.

PhD, Chemical Oceanography, University of Rhode Island, 1981.

National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at NOAA/AOML, Miami, Florida.

Research Interests
The determination of biomarkers of exposure, measurement of multiroute exposures to volatile organic compounds and disinfection by-products in drinking water, exposures to children, the role of air pollution in exacerbation of asthma, exposures within aircraft and other modes of transportation, the sources of pollutants to indoor air and their contribution to personal exposure, indoor exposures and chemistry, the linkage of gene and environmental exposures to identify susceptible populations and examine the role of the microbiome in mediating exposures and adverse health outcomes.

Research Highlights

Evaluation of exposure to ozone and ozone by-products indoors and enclosed setting;

Directed the Relationship among Indoor, Outdoor and Personal Air (RIOPA) Study;

Evaluation of exposure sampling protocols for the National Children’s Study;

Exposure and dose from pesticide treatment of aircraft cabins; and

Evaluation of exposure to disinfection by-products in drinking water.
