Due to the high volume of transfer students in New Jersey (NJ) from out-of-district, only out-of-state and out-of-country transfer student immunization records are reviewed in high schools. Starting the new school year with IgE mediated food allergies requires preparation, collaboration and ongoing communication between parents/caregivers/guardians, school nurses, school administrators and staff (athletic trainers, etc.) and clinical teams (in the community). Schools may be perceived by families as food allergen ubiquitous settings. In addition, levels of school staff education on anaphylaxis prevention and preparedness can vary.
