The Experience

Each visit to the bateyes is a unique experience for the students, as each interacts with the residents and kids in different ways, and performs different public health initiatives. Students assist in parasitie prevention programs, health screening and followup initiaitves and health education in various bateyes and poor barrios. At least one day is spent with Blanco's kids, the thirty orphaned children we support. Typically, this is a day on the beach with craft, educational and fun programs and activities. Students also visit the local public hospital and meet local Costambar residents who help support "Blanco's Kids".
