On School of Public Health's Newark Campus

The Department of Quantitative Methods: Epidemiology & Biostatistics is sponsored by the Department of Preventive Medicine and Community Health at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. The faculty have expertise in the areas of epidemiology, biostatistics, infectious diseases, occupational epidemiology, cost-effectiveness analysis, disease surveillance, tuberculosis epidemiology and maternal and child health, to name a few.  Most faculty members have offices at 185 South Orange Avenue in the New Jersey Medical School building, across the street from the main offices of the SPH Newark Campus in the Stanley S. Bergen Building.

The goal of the Department is to assist students in developing quantitative, analytic and research skills for public health practitioners, employing both lecture-based and case-based teaching methods. Students are able to emphasize either in biostatistics or epidemiology, or both.
