  • New Jersey Graduate Program in Public Health (NJGPPH) is founded by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey on the New Brunswick Campus
1986
  • NJGPPH accredited by Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) as first collaborative program
1991
  • NJGPPH moves into the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute
1992
  • First doctoral student graduates
1998
  • UMDNJ-School of Public Health is established
  • Newark Campus opens
  • Alumni Association is established
1999
  • First $1 million in external awards is received
2001
  • Stratford Campus opens
  • Senator Frank R. Lautenberg Annual Award and Lecture in Public Health is established
  • School of Public Health receives full accreditation as the first collaborative graduate school of public health
  • Audrey R. Gotsch, DrPH, CHES, is named founding dean
2002
  • Alpha Eta Chapter of Delta Omega, the honorary society for graduate students in public health, is established
2003
  • Students participate in first international field experience in the Dominican Republic
  • Volunteer Opportunities In Community Engaged Service (V.O.I.C.E.S.), a student-service organization is established
  • School of Public Health building opens on New Brunswick Campus
2007
  • School of Public Health receives accreditation by CEPH for seven years
  • School of Public Health establishes affiliate Bridging the Gaps (BTG) program
2013
  • Becomes the Rutgers School of Public Health
